Do you spend hours replying to e-mail?

Do you want more hours in the day to work on your business?

Do you want to sell products while you’re sleeping?

When running an online or off-line business there are many repetitive tasks which consume a lot of your time. One of these tasks is e-mail marketing. This includes answering customer’s e-mails, sending out newsletters and following up on customers before and after making a sale. The best way to automate e-mail marketing is to use an autoresponder also called e-mail autoresponder, follow-up autoresponder or auto responder.

Why automated e-mail marketing works

Why do only one or 2% of people purchase a product the first time they see it?
If I place myself in the shoes of a customer I don’t usually buy on impulse unless I know exactly what I want. The majority of the time I want to know more about the product before making a purchasing decision. Other times I’m just too busy with other activities and don’t want to make a quick decision but intend to return later.

An autoresponder enables you to automatically follow-up on potential customers by sending them a series of e-mail reminders. Within these e-mails you can provide tips, latest news and product recommendations. Even after a person has bought your product you can follow-up on them with your autoresponder asking for feedback, conducting surveys or selling related products.

3 automated e-mail marketing strategies for generating sales

1. Automated list building

If you build a large list of potential customers you won’t have to rely on other forms of marketing to sell your products. For instance if you built a list of 10,000 contacts and sold a product priced at $10 and only 1% bought you would earn $1000.00. To begin building your list place an opt-in form on every page of your website or blog. When a visitor fills in their name, e-mail address and submits the form the contact information is automatically stored in the online database of your web-based autoresponder. The HTML code for the opt-in form on your web page is provided by your autoresponder service.

2. Automated follow-up

Now that you have all your contacts stored in an online database you can manage them from anywhere you have a computer and Internet access. Prepare a series of at least 7 e-mail follow-up messages and load them into your autoresponder. The first automated e-mail should thank your prospect for subscribing. The next series of e-mails should be spaced one or two day’s apart and offer tips that will help pre-sell your product. Include a link to your product sales page at the bottom of each e-mail. This gives your potential customer an opportunity to purchase your products whenever they receive a follow-up email.

3. Automated sales

One all the best ways to automate the sales of your products using an autoresponder is to create an e-course. Create a series of lessons delivered automatically each week for 12 weeks. The content could be a series of short reports, videos, podcasts or e-mail lessons. The easiest and quickest method to set up a paid e-course is to bundle several related articles together you’ve already written. For example your first lesson may consist of three 500 word articles strung together totaling 1500 words. If you do the same for the other lessons you’ll have your first product ready to go. Alternatively convert the written content into an audio and sell it for a higher price.

If you haven’t yet automated your e-mail marketing tasks, sign up for a professional web-based autoresponder service so you can concentrate on other important areas of your business while generating sales on autopilot.
