Neil Patel Blog Long Tail Keywords

I ran across Neil Patel’s Quicksprout’s blog when researching link building and seo. What struck me about Neil Patel’s posts was, unlike most popular seo/marketing bloggers, every one of his posts had actionable “meat” on them. Neil Patel was just not regurgitating vague concepts that had little direct applicaton to my business.

Every One Of Neil’s Posts Has In Depth Meaty Actionable Ideas to Increase Traffic and Better Target Your Audience

Each strategy was a real world plan  that I could actually put into action to get more traffic and better search results for myself and my clients.

Neil Patel specializes in content marketing, seo, and link building. You can see Neil Patel’s content marketing guide here. I highly recommend it as I do his entire blog. Here are 3 seo basics I learned from Neil Patel that will surely triple my blog traffic.

1. I Learned How to See Which Posts Are The Most Popular On Any Blog Instantly Using The Blog Social Analyzer

When you input your blog’s Rss feed (usually http://yourdomain.com/feed/) into The Blog Social Analyzer it will analyze your posts and tell you which ones have been shared how many times by which social media platform.

Blog Social Analyzer Shows You The Most Popular Blog Posts On Any Blog By Social Media Shares

Using the free tool you can more or less determine the most popular blog posts on any blog. You can run an analysis on your own blog to check and see what type of posts are resonating with your audience. Then maybe you can come up with some more along those lines.

Learn Which Of Your Own Blog Posts Are Most Popular So You Can Write More On That Subject Or Get Ideas For Blog Posts From Influencers in Your Niche

You can also analyze other popular blogs in your niche to get ideas for your own original blog posts on those topics. Before you wait your valuable time writing blog posts it is good to do a bit of research to determine what your audience might be likely to share on social media

2. I Learned The Importance of Long Tail Keywords

Neil Patel has an excellent article on the power of long tail keywords here. Neil basically says that 57% of Amazon’s sales come from long tail keywords. Neil increased his organic search engine traffic to 173,336 visitors through the use of long tail keywords.

Neil Patel Blog Long Tail Keywords

If you learn how to target long tail keywords you have a chance of making your blog posts go viral because you are targeting keywords in your niche that are less competitive but that people are still searching for. For example with this blog post I am targeting the keywords “Neil Patel Blog” and “Neil Patel Blog Review” and “Neil Patel Content Marketing Guide.” Neil has a hugely popular blog. It would be crazy to try to rank for “Neil Patel.”

Also, I am not even expecting to rank above him for his own site for even the long tail keywords. But if I could get anywhere on the first page of Google for “Neil Patel Blog Review” that would be great. I could attract other’s who are interested in SEO and marketing which is my goal.

The same concept can be applied to local seo. I had a client who as a plumber in Fort Lauderdale. To get ranked for “Plumber Fort Lauderdale” was very competitive. However, I was able to get ranked for Best Plumber Fort Lauderdale right alongside the Google My Business pages as well as Yelp, Angie’s List and other popular local directories.

I highly recommend his article on How to Use Google Suggest to Grow Your Long Tail Traffic.

3. I Learned How to Leverage Influencers in Your Niche to Attract More Targeted Website Visitors

Neil Patel has an in depth guide called “The Complete Guide to Building Your Blog Audience” Neil talks about identifying “influencers” in your niche. Who are the people in your niche who you admire and are farther ahead than you? He suggests researching not only what type of blog posts these influencers post but what they share on social media.

Then he suggests coming up with content that is similar to the influencer’s shared content but way better than the content they shared. Then approaching these influencers to share or publish your content.

In a sense that is what I am doing with this blog post. Not that this content comes anywhere close to Neil’s in depth content but by analyzing and reviewing the work of somebody who is farther ahead than I am  I am bringing myself into a better neighborhood, learning and yes even shamelessly capitalizing a bit on their fame.

One Of My Biggest Mistakes Has Been Not Working With Influencers in My Niche

I used keyword analysis that I learned from Neil’s first basic video on seo to come up with some long tail keywords about my targeted influencer, Neil Patel. Then I wrote a blog post about that influencer using those long tail keywords. Since the audience I am targeting are those interested in seo and marketing “Neil Patel” actually becomes a keyword itself that I can target since most people searching for Neil Patel Blog or Neil Patel blog Review will be interested in seo and marketing.

I highly recommend Neil Patel’s Quicksprout blog. I give his blog 5+ stars. The only criticism I have is that there is so much information that you almost do not know where to start. That is what I call a good problem. Just pick one area and get into action mode.
