With the aid of the premium SEOPressor WordPress plugin created by well known SEO expert Daniel Tan, you can analyse any post or page on a WordPress site to see how well optimised it is for search engines. As you might expect, the higher the score the page gets, the more chance it has of ranking for the phrase you have chosen to target.

How does the SEOPressor plugin work?

It looks at the various elements that make-up a WordPress (or any other) page – the title tag, the meta description, keyword density and so on – and awards the page a score. This is in the form of a percentage. If the page scores highly, then it is well optimised, if it scores a low figure, then you need to go back and do some more work on the page to give it a better chance of ranking.

In my tests I have found that even a minor change like adding a missing ALT tag can make a big difference to the overall score.

Now, just because a page has a high score it doesn’t mean it will automatically rank highly in the search engine results. You just can’t take that kind of thing for granted, but it does mean that it stands a better chance of ranking higher than it would if you had done no SEO work at all.

I know SEO is a bit of a strange art to some people, but believe me; it isn’t that difficult to understand the basics. And having a tool like the SEOPressor plugin as part of your arsenal can go a long way to helping you get much more traffic and satisfaction from running your own site, after all, there is nothing more disheartening than running a website (or blog) and having no visitors to appreciate your work.

I’ve been using the SEOPressor plugin for quite some time now and I would recommend it to anyone; experienced bloggers, webmasters and people who live and breathe SEO. When I create a new blog post I have a set routine. I follow it all the time. The final check is running the page through SEOPressor and I’ve been surprised how many times I have had to go back to the post to make a few minor changes in order to get a couple more percentage points from it.
