Branding Yourself for Business and Profit

This is a guest post by Shaun Lunn from Empowerment Bloggers.

Have you spent time branding yourself for your business? If you haven’t then there is no time like the present to start. Are you a new business? Are you a business that has been around for 10 years or more? You should have already branded yourself, but if you haven’t then you absolutely MUST start by doing so today, and there are some simple things you can do to get started.

Branding Yourself with a Logo

Getting a logo is one of the first things that you should do, and this is true even if you are a brick and mortar business location, or if your business is strictly run online. Your logo should embody what your business is about and it should make a bold statement. Getting a good logo just takes some creativity, and using the right name for your business can make it catchy and draw attention. When people visit your website or drive past your business your logo and signage should stand out and make people remember you or they should certainly want to stop.

Branding Yourself with a Tag Line

Did you know that branding yourself with a tag line is equally as important as your logo? Sure, the logo should come first, but you need a tag line to incorporate with that. Your logo can have as many as ten variations to use with business cards, brochures, t-shirts, and other things, but your tagline should show up right below it. Give people something to remember you by. For a coin shop in Ohio it was, “Ask me what its worth?” That was catchy because they started using it right around the time that the price of gold hit the roof.

Whatever you choose to use as your tagline, make sure that it means something significant in terms of what you do, and what you have. People will begin to associate that tagline with your business and they will think of you whenever they hear it.

Give Them Something to “Like” on Facebook

One way that you can stay in front of people is by using social media platforms. Naturally, Facebook is number one on the leaderboard for this, so use it to your advantage. Creating a Facebook page is an absolute must, and when you do this spend some time on it. Make it attractive, be creative, and above all put your logo up in the profile picture before you use anything else. Post every day, and respond when your customers inquire. Be sure that you are posting relevant information regarding your products and services, and if it’s a tangible item be sure to put up high quality photos.

You should also be branding yourself through promotional products that are related to your business. If you are a coffee shop why not give out some coasters with your logo? If you are apparel, then give out t-shirts to thank them for their business. Whatever you do, be sure that you are creative, and you will find that branding yourself was the most valuable thing you could do.
